What is grooved rubber and what are the benefits of using it

For moving warehouse, gardening, construction and other types of mobile equipment on a hard surface with small obstacles, cast corrugated rubber wheels are best suited. The multifunctional contact layer allows you to easily move the overall loaded structures both indoors and outdoors.

Features of grooved rubber
Corrugated rubber differs from smooth rubber by the presence of a tread on the tire surface. The pattern made up of grooves and channels on the outer contact layer is of great functional importance:

provides good grip on the road surface;
increases tire wear resistance;
increases the permeability of the mobile structure;
absorbs shocks, shocks and vibrations.
The tread on a cast rubber tire also protects the rim and other wheel elements from mechanical damage.

Important! The more water-repellent channels a tread layer has, the easier it will be to handle a massive structure on any type of surface.

Applications of tread tires
The multi-tasking of grooved tires makes them one of the most demanded contact layers for wheels of bogies or wheelbarrows used in various business areas:

production or storage facilities with cement floors and level differences;
construction sites covered with sand, gravel and other loose and viscous materials;
household plots and summer cottages with unpaved paths and wooden walkways;
workshops of meat processing plants and dairies, in which, as a rule, slippery concrete or tiled floors are laid.
Wheels with solid rubber tires are available in different diameters, which maximizes the range of their use - from the usual grocery carts to mobile production systems.

Caution! Rubber tires are sensitive to long-term exposure to aggressive chemicals (oils, solvents, gasoline). This feature must be taken into account when choosing products. For such conditions, it is better to use wheels made of polymer materials.

Caster range with solid rubber tires
For mobile equipment to perform its functions in any operating conditions, manufacturers offer dozens of modifications of corrugated rubber wheel bearings:

diameter from 75 mm to 250 mm;
carrying capacity up to 500 kg;
equipped with a body and rim made of pressed steel, polypropylene, cast iron or polyamide;
installed with one of three types of bearings (sleeve, roller or ball bearing);
with fixed or swivel arm made of robust stainless steel;
various types of fasteners: axial, platform or rod;
if necessary, the wheels are equipped with brakes or directional brakes.
Such a wide range of cast rubber castors makes it possible to use a variety of mobile structures both in large industrial shops and in small enterprises.

Advantages of wheels with grooved tires
Wheels with grooved tires, correctly matched to a particular type of equipment, will help to optimize the work process and ensure the safety of both the goods being moved and the employees of the company. In addition, the use of cast tread tires has a number of other advantages that are valuable for any enterprise:

durable rubber practically does not deform and does not lose its properties even with intensive use. Therefore, there is no need to waste time and money on the elimination of cuts or punctures;
the elasticity of the material can significantly reduce the noise level during the operation of the wheel mechanism. Thanks to this quality of rubber, tires also soften the effect of vibrations and shocks on the handles of the bogies, which greatly facilitates the work of technical personnel;
the use of wheels with a rubber contact layer is safe for all types of coatings: polymer and tile floors, parquet, laminate and carpet;
trolleys with wheel supports of this type can be used without compromising their technical characteristics in the temperature range from -20 to +50 ° C.
For free rotation of the wheel on the axle, the structure is equipped with two bearings. To ensure that the wheel bearings can withstand heavy loads, the product discs are made of pressed sheet steel.

The nuances of choosing wheel supports
When choosing wheels with rubber tread, it is necessary to determine how many supports will be installed on each specific device. Then you need to calculate the load on the individual wheel mechanism and on the entire structure as a whole. To do this, the weight of the intended load (taking into account the mass of the wheelbarrow / trolley) must be divided by the total number of supports, minus one wheel (if four wheels are used, then it must be divided by three). This is done so that if one of the supports falls into a pit or pothole, the entire load can be distributed to the remaining wheels. A careful approach to the selection of products and an accurate calculation of the carrying capacity guarantee the longest possible service life of wheel supports with a corrugated tire without breakdowns and repairs.
